Whenever I want to open file or save in Windows XP, it is quite time wasting to navigate to the folder I frequently used.
Even though Microsoft has provided Five Shortcuts (My Recent Documents, Desktop, My Documents, My Computer and My Network Places) in Places Bar on the left side, those shortcuts are not much useful for me.
One of my colleagues has pointed out that there is simple freeware called “Placesbar Editor”. I prefer this over PowerToys XP and registry editing method as this tool is simpler and not bloated.
All you need to do is download and install it.
Just choose, any folder you want by clicking checkbox custom. Don’t worry about losing defaults folder, you can always rollback the changes by clicking on Defaults icon.
That’s it, very simple. Enjoy your new shortcuts!
